Danielle lay quietly next to Prince listening to the birds chirp outside her window. She rolled over into his arms, laying her head on his chest. Prince arm went automatically around the soft body lying next to him. He then opened his eyes and focused on Danielle’s soft body.

“Good morning,” she whispered.

“Hey baby,” Prince said in his own deep whisper.

“What would you like for breakfast?” she asked.

“I’m thinking about some more of you,” he said caressing her body.

“Oh no, you’ve got to give me a chance to recuperate after last night’s performance.”

Prince smiled at the thought. “Okay then, I’ll take bacon and eggs,” he said playfully pushing her off his chest.

“I’m gonna go jump in the shower and then cook breakfast,” she said crawling out of bed.

“I’ll take a shower while you’re doing your thing in the kitchen.” Prince laid back thinking about this really fly crib of Danielle’s parents.

“Boy oh boy,” he thought, “I was sure sleeping on this chick. This girl got the life, the type of house only brothers like me dreams of living in!” He wanted to check out more of the house, so he found his underwear and slipped them on. As he sat on the end of the bed he thought for the first time about what happened last night. “Four cats dead! Street has gone and lost his damn mind. Damn that shit was crazy!” he said quietly to himself. “Shit’s about to get hot and we got to lay low!” he thought to himself when his cell phone rang.

“Yeah, what’s up?”

“Yo, it’s me Fats,” came the voice on the other end.

“Yeah, Fats what’s going on?” Prince said lying back on the bed.

“Dig cuz, like I know you told us to lay low but we got some problems over here.”

Prince sat up. “What kind of problems Fats?”

“That James O’Neal was over here with his bullhorn and a bunch of white people early this morning. We threw rocks, bottles, bricks and anything we could get our hands on at their asses and they ran off. Now the police are sweating us.”

“Damn, I can’t leave you niggaz alone for five minutes! Listen, get everybody in the house. Where’s Street?”

“He’s up stairs, you want me to go get him?”

“Nah, just go tell him I said to get out here and pick me up. I’m at Danielle’s.” Prince said.

Danielle stood in the doorway wrapped in a towel, looking very sexy. “What’s wrong?” she asked.

Prince flipped the phone on the bed and laid his head back down.

“Those niggaz, with that damn bullshit is what’s wrong,” he said looking up at the ceiling.

Danielle went over and sat on the bed. “Can I say something?”

“Sure, speak your mind.”

“Has it dawned on you yet, that your cousin shot four people last night and you’re hiding him from the law which can also get you involved?” she asked looking into his eyes.

“Yeah, I know but that’s how the game goes on the street. You do me and I’ll do you. That’s a fair exchange on the streets and that’s the law we live by.
