“I don’t want my money back, and I definitely won’t stop texting you back until you reply. Besides I’m enjoying myself a bit.” I say, placing my nose in her neck; before I could stop it, I caught myself sniffing deeply, her body going rigid and with it my hopes of things actually going smoothly.

“What are you doing?” her voice cold and accusing, stepping away from me again.

“Sorry,” I say, throwing my hands up in defense.

“I told you before. I’m. Not. Gay!” She half whispers, even though the music was loud enough to muffle our voices.

Smiling, I steel myself for what I was about to say.

“Let’s get lunch tomorrow,” I say, standing while adjusting my clothing.

“Really!” clearly surprised by my offer she shouts, “Are you daft?”

Pacing the room, I give us some distance.

“Look, I told you before. I don’t dip in the kitty pool! It’s not my thing.” She says. Her chest, moving with each deep breath she took.

I walked towards her, determined to make her understand. Holding on to her hands even though she looked like she was about to eat my head off. I had to take this chance to make her understand.

“It’s only food. You can leave whenever you want to. I just want to talk to you one on one. Maybe the kiss was a bit too much for you, but in my defense, you kissed me back. I thought you wanted me to. I’m sorry. Let me make it up to you.” I say letting go of her hand, I don’t think to tell her about my current obsession with her was going to help.

“Think about it okay,” I say, leaving the private room before she could object.
