Respond to visitors’ concerns

No matter how hard you’ve worked with your property, there’s going to be some aspect that a visitor doesn’t like or wants changed. Be prepared to handle criticisms—for example, few closets or a tiny kitchen. Some landlords’ responses are the stuff of stand-up comics (“Small kitchen? Well, at least it won’t take you long to mop the floor!”) Don’t go there—anticipate the negative observations you’re likely to hear and have a response that puts the best reasonable spin on the issue, and shows that you’re interested in the tenant’s concerns.
