Hi, Iâm back. Itâs time to get real.
Iâm the girl who gets super excited about ghosts, gives ghost hunting tips, and sometimes does funny hot takes on the other investigators. On-screen, I get real gushy when I talk to the spirits, offering comfort and seeking communication.
A lot of you think I am secretly in love with Matt and that when Iâm not hunting ghosts, Iâm a wild party girl, a nympho nerd.
Like I said, I want to get real. The show suddenly became very, very real for me last night, so now itâs my turn.
I donât get excited about ghosts. Before I saw a ghost with my very own eyes, you could say I was superstitious but agnostic about them, though I do scare easily even at the suggestion of a haunting. Every jump you see in the show is one hundred percent authentic. Every yelp you hear. I really do get scared.
When the others ran upstairs, I did what any normal person would do seeing their house burning down all around them; I ran like a bat out of hell. I almost quit the show over it. But I owe my family, the team, and you too much.
Even now, when I am most decidedly not agnostic, I still donât get excited about ghosts. If you want the whole truth, they scare the hell out of me.
Next up is no, I am not in love with Matt. Heâs honestly a catch, but itâs not what you think. I admire him. Heâs doing what he loves and gets paid for it. Mattâs a very lucky man, but itâs hard to feel envy because heâs a good guy who deserves what heâs gained. Heâs always been good to me.
It was never exactly a secret, but you may not know Iâm an actor who was hired to round out the team and make it more fun for television. Being real paranormal investigators, Matt and Claire could have resented me for that, but they never did. Matt always treated me like family, and I fit in.
I became an actor because I was always restless and wanted to be special. I think itâs a fundamental human needâto have our existence recognizedâand some have it more than others. We spend so much time every day without really being aware weâre alive. Itâs the greatest thing when someone reminds us we exist and that we matter.
This is why I love acting. Every minute I do it, Iâm fully aware, alive, and in the moment. Sometimes, I wonder how a ghost must feel. They must have to fight even harder to exist; they too must perform, or they fade away.
Oh, and to all you horny gentlemen, Iâm hardly a party girl. Iâm a single mom with a little boy who keeps me home most nights. I havenât been on a date, much less to an actual party, in a long time. I am a bit nerdyâthough my sister is the real nerd, and way hotter than me, I assure youâbut Iâm hardly the geek dream girl.
