Getting There

A fast train from Euston to Manchester’s Piccadilly Station will take about two hours. Chester can also be reached by a similar West Coast service from Euston, some trains proceeding direct to the city while others may require a change at Crewe.

There are two principal stations in Manchester and the traveller between there and Chester has a choice of two routes. Trains from Piccadilly take seventy-five minutes while those from Victoria Station, about an hour. Trains on both routes are provided with basic rolling stock and are neither very comfortable nor very fast.

Manchester can be easily reached from other parts of the country and the city is currently being developed as a major transport hub with expanded rail and bus services.
