Unless you’ve got a really great message or some startling discovery, you probably want to table an idea, if there aren’t at least one or two books in the category that rank under 20,000.

YOU NEED TO PRODUCE A WELL-WRITTEN BOOK

You don’t have to be another Stephen King or Amanda Hocking, but you do need to know how to turn a phrase.

If you write nonfiction people will be more forgiving of grammatical errors, as long as you give them the information you promised. If you’re writing a novel, people expect to be entertained. You’d better be at the top of your game if you want to make big sales.

Keep in mind; no book is going to be perfect, especially on the first go around. Every book should go through several rounds of proofreading for grammatical errors and typos.

One of the fastest ways to get your book torn apart in the Kindle world is to publish a poorly written book, loaded with typos. It’s going to put you on the fast track to bad reviews. Not only will it tank this book, but probably your next book, too.

If you’re not up to the task of editing your book, ask a friend who is good with English. Another option is to hire a proofreader or copy editor on Fiverr or another freelancing site.
