Importing cane or beet sugar is not environmentally defensible. When grown under large monocultures, both crops are land degrading and polluting. Logically, honey is the best form of sugar. With a year’s supply of honey, sugar can be taken off your shopping list.

It is not necessary to move the hives regularly to sources of pollen and nectar. Beehives with plenty of on-site forage can be permanently integrated into the site design. This is done by carrying out the same process of analysing needs and yields as we did for chickens.
