Chapter 15

It didn’t take them long to get home.

Once they were, Brooke and Xavier unloaded the PCs and distributed them to everyone’s lair. He thought it was cute that, even though they were just rooms, they actively enjoyed describing them as lairs.

It was something he would keep doing.

After Nicki assisted in setting everyone’s PC with Xavier and Brooke, Hayley added everyone to the network, and the gaming machines were ready to play. Nicki seemed so excited that she might detonate.

Hayley, while calm, was obviously happy.

So was Brooke.

They stood outside of Xavier’s room while Hayley and Nicki kept to their lairs. “You know, we’re going to have to play a lot,” she said.

Xavier nodded. “Yes. Was there a dinner tonight?”

“I can ask Hayley or Nicki, hold on,” Brooke said. She shouted down the hall and Hayley appeared from her cracked door.

“No dinner tonight! I was just about to tell you!” she yelled.

With that, Hayley disappeared back into her lair. Xavier laughed. “Well, that answers that. So, whatever’s in the fridge.”

“Fend for ourselves. How about I whip something up?” Brooke asked. “I’ve got a microwave in my room and a mini-fridge. I probably eat the most out of everyone here, so I have to stay prepped. Tons of soda and snacks, too.”

“You’re going to need your energy, huh?” Xavier teased.

Brooke blushed. “I think you’re going to need it more than me,” she smirked.

Xavier nodded and turned to his bedroom door. “We’ll see about that. I’m going to get ready.”

“Me too. What should I wear?”

He pondered it for a moment. “Whatever you like.”

“Oh, come on, I know you have a thing for goth stuff,” Brooke laughed. “I have fishnets, you know.”

“Oh?”

Brooke nodded and laughed. “Yeah. And make-up. All that stuff.”

Xavier considered her words. “Okay, maybe try out the fishnets with something you think matches. Some bold eyeliner and smokey-eye. Really make those beautiful colors pop,” he said.

She blushed. “You think my eyes are that pretty, huh?”

Xavier shrugged. “I’m not going to lie to you. They’re gorgeous.”

“Hm.” Brooke chuckled softly. “I’ll remember that. I’ll go pick out a movie. Come to my lair in an hour or after. I’ll be waiting.”

“I’ll see you there, sexy.”

Brooke smirked. “You haven’t seen sexy yet. Just remember, it is my lair, so you know, need to break it in since it’s your first night in there with me.”

“Done,” Xavier said. “Now go get that sexy ass ready for me.”

Brooke smiled widely. “Count on it, handsome,” she finished.

Xavier finished dressing himself, which wasn’t hard. Brooke didn’t seem to care what he wore, and he’d never seen her excited about putting on something for him.

He glanced in the mirror above his master dresser, smirked a bit, and sought the nearest bottle of fine cologne. Xavier applied a little, though not much. He didn’t want to overwhelm Brooke’s senses and hide his own pheromones.

After tidying up a few more things, turning off some lights, and finishing his attire, Xavier made his way out of the master bedroom. He shut the door behind him and checked his watch.
