Despite all the controversy over Trump's net worth, Forbes and Bloomberg have both estimated his net worth at over $3 billion. Yet, the issue seems far from settled. Federal election regulators reported that his assets were worth $1.4 billion, but Trump produced an accounting firm’s report saying he was worth over $8 billion.

In a 2015 campaign press release, Trump was said to be worth over $10 million. About the FEC filing that reported his gross revenue as over $611 million for that year, the release said that the type of filing required was not designed for someone with Trump's "massive wealth" and that his net worth frequently fluctuates with the market and changes in attitude.
