My first piece of advice: don’t accept any of the system’s built-in assumptions. For example, don’t accept that dads should only be allowed “visitation” or “access” while moms are granted the right of primary care, or that the default when a couple splits is that Mom stays in the matrimonial home and Dad gets a new place.
