Just north of Šibenik, Vodice is northern Dalmatia’s most successful package-holiday destination. There are several high-rise hotels, and a succession of part-concrete, part-shingle beaches stretching around the shore. In the town centre are some quiet stone alleys and the 15th-century Čorić Tower (Čorićev toranj), built for a Šibenik landowning family. The nearby aquarium shows off the local marine life alongside an impressive display of model ships and ancient amphorae.

West of Vodice is the traditional fishing village of Tribunj, a picturesque huddle of Dalmatian houses occupying a small island reached by bridge.
