Chapter Ten

Rome

It takes every ounce of willpower I have not to bend Lil over and take her on the beach under the clouds.

The whimper she made right before she came all over my fingers will be forever embedded in my mind, as will her taste. I’m dying to go straight to the source and gorge myself on her until I get my fill.

My dick is hard as steel and aches every time her ass brushes me. I could eliminate the problem if I let her go, but I don’t want to. Not yet. She feels incredible molded against me.

I like holding her in my arms, even if I didn’t plan what just happened.

I shouldn’t have gotten close enough to touch her; that was my first mistake. My second was letting her know she still has power over me. The plan was to make her fall for me again, not the other way around.

I’m so fucked.

“I didn't lie,” she says, her voice raspy after holding in her scream.

Thinking about how good that felt to control her sounds makes my dick throb. I bet it would feel even better with her sexy lips wrapped around my cock. I exhale, trying to stay focused. There’s so much I want to do to her, but I don’t dare.

The more I touch her, the more I’ll want, I have no more doubts about that. If I get inside her, everything changes. She’ll be mine and nothing and no one will get in the way. That throws a wrench into my plan to take the mayor down.

“I never lied to you.”

My arm involuntarily tightens around her waist when she tries to step away. Though the storm over the sea isn’t approaching the shore, the wind has picked up, teasing strands of her hair over my face.

She still smells the same: vanilla and cherries. A scent she made me crave long after she was gone.

“I saw what I saw, Lil. Then your father confirmed it.” It was one of the worst nights of my life. I almost got kicked off the football team the following month because I couldn’t stop replaying that night in my mind.

Her body stiffens and she manages to wiggle out of my embrace enough to face me. In the flickering moonlight, I see the flush on her face as her eyes frantically search mine.

“You spoke to my father? When? What did he say?”

“Does it really matter?”

She grips my shirt in her fists. “Yes, it matters, Rome. I swear on everything I love that I never cheated on you. I wouldn’t do that to you.”

I narrow my eyes as I stare down at her. Once, before she betrayed me, I believed that she’d never lie to me. Now, the wide-eyed honesty in her eyes makes me waver. I shake my head to regain a little clarity and focus.

“I tried to barge in and confront you but your father blocked my way. He told me you’d met that guy at your private school and you had a lot in common.
