Looking along Platform 1 on 20 May 2017. This station is constructed on the site of Ilkeston Junction and Cossall which was opened by the MR on 2 May 1870 as Ilkeston, renamed as Ilkeston Junction 1 July 1890, as Ilkeston Junction and Cossall 1 December 1890 and closed by BR 2 January 1967.

Funded by the Department for Transport and Derbyshire County Council with additional finance from a group of councils: Nottinghamshire County, Derbyshire County, Nottingham City, Rushcliffe Borough, Broxtowe Borough, Gedling Borough and Erewash Borough, using a Government fund designed to support infrastructure for additional housing in the Nottingham area. It was opened on 2 April 2017.

IMPERIAL COTTAGES HALT

One of four halts opened on the Speyside route between Elgin and Aviemore on 15 June 1959, on the introduction of railbuses, and closed by the British Railways Board 18 October 1965 when services on the line were withdrawn.
