Demon

"No fucking way I'm doing it, D. It will not happen. We are not calling that prick and getting him involved in anything to do with my old lady."

I lifted my arm and gazed down at my watch and shook my head. We’d been going at this for at least three hours now, me trying to convince him to allow Chantal to call her ex so we could get some inside information on Agent Contee, but he was losing his shit.

I can't say I blame him. From what I understood, Chantal gave Razor an ultimatum and was willing to spend the rest of her life with the G-man if Razor didn't get his ass in gear and make a go at their relationship. So I completely understood his reservations, but Chantal had moved on with her life. They had a kid on the way and a marriage in the works. Razor didn't have anything to worry about.

I returned my gaze to him and leaned back against the chair, watching him pace. I smirked at my irate brother and shook my head at his rant. "You don't trust her?"

Maybe this wasn't the best time to poke the seething bear, but I couldn't help it. He stopped mid-stride and looked at me like he could swing on me at any minute. I threw my hands up in surrender and laughed. "Calm down, dude, it was just a question."

"You think this shit is funny? What the hell do you mean, I don't trust her? Hell yeah, I trust my girl. The person I don't trust is that pencil neck dick! That's who I don't trust. He has a thing for my woman, D," he pressed his finger into his chest, "my woman, and he will always have a thing for her. Ask Aaliyah to help you, Chan stays out of it."

I shook my head. “We can’t.”

"And why the hell not, D? Aaliyah can find out anything you fucking need for this! Why the hell do you want to bring Chan into it? When did we involve our women in club business?"

"We can't use Aaliyah on this one, Raz. We need personal information like how she is in the office. Does she have long conversations with anyone on the phone? Does she keep family photos on her desk, particularly a photo of her husband? Does she go on vacation, and if she does, where and with whom? The type of information friends or co-workers might know, not what's on a computer. Although we need that information, too."

He shook his head. "I can't do it. I won't ask Chantal to do it. I couldn’t keep myself from trying to choke his punk ass."

"You won't ask me to do what and choke who?" Chantal asked when she ambled into the living room.

"Shit," I mumbled under my breath. I didn't even hear her come in.

Razor groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Goddamn it. It's club business, babe. Nothing for you to worry about."

"Well, I heard my name, so what's up? If you need to ask me something or need my help, baby.
