Groping to Address the Discontent

As disillusion with government grew, politicians groped to articulate frustrations and discontents that the reigning political agenda did not capture. Those who tapped the mood of discontent differed as sharply in their politics as George Wallace and Robert Kennedy and as Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan.
