Chapter Seven

Hannah had another nightmare that night. Ben had come charging into her room and held her all night long. She refused to let him go. Alejandro’s men found her, dragged her back to Panama, and were taking her to Alejandro’s office to punish her. It was his favorite place to torture his victims. She didn’t know why. As the men were holding her down to hurt her, a new pair of arms grabbed her and shook her until she opened her eyes, that’s when she saw Ben hovering above her.

Hannah sagged in bed and tried to compose herself. Just a dream. Alejandro’s men hadn’t found her. She was safe in Ben’s house and in Ben’s arms. Hannah fell asleep holding on to him, afraid if she let go the nightmares would come back.

The next day, Hound showed up with Tiny and Doc telling them that Blade, Hound’s informant was looking into the Fox. Apparently, he was already on FBI’s watch list and that he should have more information soon. It wasn’t much, but at least it was something.

Ben announced that he was taking Hannah out shopping for new clothes and toiletries. Hannah argued that she had enough to get her by, but he insisted that she needed more, and that he needed a few things as well. The guys groaned about a woman and her shopping but tagged along and give Ben back up if he needed it. The statement of Alejandro or his men coming for her going unsaid.

“I’ll pay you back, I promise,” Hannah told Ben as they approached the mall.

“Don’t even sweat it,” he told her as he took her hand. His hand was warm and calloused. A warrior’s hand. A hand that had killed but also saved lives.

“Please, I have to pay you something,” Hannah begged and pulled him to a stop in front of the mall doors. The guys looked back at them in question, but a subtle head nod had them heading inside without them. “You have already done so much for me.”

Ben seemed to ponder her request. “There is one thing I want.”

Hannah eyed him weary when a strange look came into his eye. “What?”

“One kiss every night while you are here. A good night kiss.”

That was it? There had to be a catch. “Just one kiss good night?”

“Every night while you are here,” he reiterated.

“You won’t try anything else?” She wanted to make sure she knew what she was getting into before agreeing. For most, kissing this sex god every night wouldn’t be a hardship, but she didn’t want a kiss goodnight having him thinking she was willing for more.

“Scouts honor.” He held three fingers up.

“You were never a scout?” Hannah folded her arms over her chest.

“No,” he confessed, “but I did date a girl scout once.”

Hannah laughed and shook her head. “And what if I don’t agree to your terms? Will we leave, and I’m forced to wear your clothes?” She didn’t think he would be that kind of guy, but she had to ask.
