After the phone call from Erica Black, Mr. Lau decided that Jessica must die if he was going to be able to buy Aloha Village since it was clear she was just as stubborn as her father had been and would never sell the property to him.

With Jessica out of the way, Lau was confident that Pua would sell Aloha Village.

Lau had had a spy working at Aloha Village for the last year who had instructions to report anything that would help the Triads take control of the Village.

When Lau got wind of the beach meeting, he called Woo Ching into his office at the Ming. “I need you to take care of a problem for me.” Lau proceeded to tell Woo Ching that Jessica needed to be taken out on her way to the bank Monday morning. Woo Ching nodded and left Mr. Lau’s office without a word.

Woo Ching was the Triads’ most notorious hit man in Hong Kong and had been sent to the Ming in Kona for just such an occasion as this. Woo Ching’s method of choice would be a car bomb. He could never plant it on Jessica’s 4Runner while it was parked in the Village, though, so the next best thing was to bury the bomb alongside the road leaving the resort. Arming the bomb with a cell phone detonator, Woo Ching would wait until he saw the 4Runner leave, and then boom. End of problem.
