Valerie

Feeling uneasy and a bit restless due to another attempt to kill Rome last night, Valerie decided to get out of the house and hit Mastro’s a little early. Just in case she did run into her favorite celebrity couple, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, she had dressed up for dinner. She was wearing a Jessica Simpson Cold-Shouldered burgundy draped dress and Manolo Blahnik d’orsay pumps that matched the dress perfectly.

The moment she stepped into the restaurant’s bar area, Val heard a familiar voice yelling, “I just don’t understand you, Rome. I have never been so embarrassed in my life as I was today. My client complimented me on my jewelry, so I very proudly told him that my boyfriend gave it to me for my birthday. When I revealed who my boyfriend is, my client proceeded to tell me that he saw you at a restaurant last night with some woman. You told me you were going to spend time with your son, then go home to get some rest. What kind of fool do you think I am?”

Oh, no. That was Turquoise. Val approached the bar right away to try and diffuse whatever the situation was.

“Turquoise, Rome. How are you two doing tonight?”

“Not good,” answered Turquoise replied. “Your partner here played me yesterday.”

Rome couldn’t believe this was happening to him. Neither public nor private scenes were his thing. He calmly told Turquoise, “That was a business associate of mine, Tyler. She was a friend of my cousin Charlie’s.”

Val stepped in.

“Look, lower your voice. I could hear you all the way outside. You don’t have to worry about Rome and Tyler.” Val whispered to Turquoise, “Tyler thinks that her dick is bigger than Rome’s.”

Turquoise looked at Val like she was crazy. “What do you mean?”

Rome gave Val a light punch on the shoulder. “I wouldn’t say all that. What Miss I’ve Got Jokes here means is Tyler is into women. I would never just lie to you. I was heading home to get some rest, but the case I’m working on was on my mind. So, I decided to go see Tyler for some help. Who’s your client anyway?”

Turquoise just rolled her eyes at him.

“That doesn’t really matter. You’re a famous guy. People are going to notice you. I just don’t understand why you didn’t call me and let me know you were still out. I thought we had something good going here.”

“We do have something good going, but I’m a private detective. I make a lot of moves that I can’t tell anyone about.”

Turquoise pointed to Val.

“Well, she certainly seems to know your every move.”

Val laughed. “That’s because we work together. But, don’t be so sure about that. I didn’t know he was out with Tyler last night either.”

The three of them laughed. At that point Magic and Cookie Johnson walked past them.

He shook Rome’s hand, then kissed Val on the cheek.

“It’s nice to see both of you,” Magic told them.

“It’s good to see you two also. Enjoy your dinner.
