Points (sêmeia): A sêmeion is usually a sign or indication, or a sort of rhetorical deduction (Rh. I 2 1357a33). But here, as at APo. I 10 76b5, Top. VI 4 141b12, and Ph. VI 9 240b3, it is a mathematical point, usually stigmê in Aristotle.

It is the same too in the case of movement along one of the two semicircles—for example, from C to D and from D to C. For it (hautê) [the spatial movement] is the same as along the diameter, since we always suppose the distance between each pair of points to be a straight line:
