A telegram from Regina Weinreich says she is arriving with TV crew. I’d more or less decided that the whole idea of the film had been abandoned, since October had gone by without any word from her.

December 1

In an early missive Weinreich mentioned an honorarium of ten thousand dollars. But on arriving she announced that there would be no money. The crew was here for a week. Catherine Warnow, the metteuse-en-scene, kept me and the crew working overtime. Scenes outdoors in the wind at the Café Hafa, in the Fez Market, in my bedroom showing me eating in bed. Hard to imagine anyone being interested in such material.
