Chapter 3

CHRYS

Packing sucked.

I never had to pack before, other than to go to Maka’s, but that was usually only for a night or two. This was different as I had to pack for three months, plus the wedding. Granted, Zeus would probably give me anything I needed, but some things just needed to be brought along in order to make it feel like home.

There was no way Olympus would ever feel like home. Even if I blacked out the windows and closed my eyes. Nowhere was as nice as the Underworld, I learned that the hard way, as I wanted to see how nice the mortal world was compared to here. It sucked, and I wished I never had stepped foot on it. Mainly because I wouldn't have been in this mess if I just had stay put.

I blamed A.J. and my mother often, but I knew that the choice had been ultimately mine. It didn't change the fact that they had definitely pushed me into making the bad choice, but I tried to let it go.

And I tried not to think about the fact my mother was the one picking me up from here and taking me to Olympus.

I stuffed my bag with my stuffed giraffe, some underwear, and some outfits that Huntley liked the best. There wasn't a day that went by that I didn't miss him. He was on Earth, probably trying to do the impossible. No, I knew he was trying to do the impossible as he had made his way to the Underworld to talk to my father about finding a way out of this. I tried to ask my father about the details, but he didn't want to put me in danger in case Hermes or Zeus started questioning things. It made sense, but I hated being out of the loop.

So I was stuck, which bugged me even more. I was a goddess—I shouldn't feel helpless. However, my every movement was watched by Hermes so I couldn’t do anything to get out of this marriage with him here. Hermes would just report it quickly to Zeus. So I had to see what the others came up with, and if that didn't work, I would figure something out in Olympus.

If all else failed, I could just…

I shook my head. No, I could not use my powers the way I wanted to. I wasn’t strong enough to take down Zeus or anyone like that. He would just kill me in an instant, and then father would be extremely upset. I couldn’t do that to him. Not again.

“You know, you really don’t even need to pack anything, Olympus has everything you have ever needed and more,” Hermes said from the corner he was leaning in.

I jumped a little, deep in thought, and forgetting he was in my room. Normally he didn't come into my room, as it was my little sanctuary, but since we were about to leave, he stayed near in case I tried to make any last escape.
