Charlotte

I had to tell my parents about what happened between Ethan and me. My mother was upset. But it wasn't for the right reasons. She kept asking me what I did to make him mad. She didn't want to hear my side of the story. Let's just say Christmas day didn't turn out as planned.

Knight had to leave town to take care of some business back in the city of San Francisco, and I had to listen to my parents telling me that while marriage might not be a walk in the park, Ethan can provide for me. They said things happen, and besides, I wasn't getting any younger. Stunned their words, I reminded them that I turned twenty on Christmas Day. My mom didn't care.

She said, "yes, you just turned 20, but I married your father at 18. Besides, Ethan's parents have a lot of money. It's a pity; Knight's ex-wife didn't have any kids; maybe you would've married one of them.

I swallowed I wanted to tell my mother that I loved Knight, but then, of course, I knew she would have nothing good to say about that. She often talked about age gap relationships and how crazy people are to get into it. But I was quick to remind her that her mother married her father, who was 20 years older than her. I didn't know I could keep the secret any longer.

Then things got worse, Knight did not come back for a few more days, and that's when I realized my period was late. Worried, I called my friend Susan.

She was on a date with one of her Arrangement guys when I called.

I told her I have a problem that I might be pregnant. She said, "I'm coming over right now. "

She stopped by my place with a pregnancy test in her hands. She offered it to me.

I declined at first, telling her that might not be it.

She said, "Just to be sure. Hopefully, if you are pregnant, then maybe you and Jay can work things out. "If only it were that simple, I thought.

Waiting for the result was the longest three minutes of my life, and when the results came out, I found my lips shocked to see that it was positive.

I was indeed pregnant with Knights baby.

Susan smiled and said, congratulations, you're going to be a mom, you should tell your parents. I raised an eyebrow and looked at her.

She chuckled and said, "What's the big deal you're engaged, right? "I reminded her that I did not say yes to the engagement. Then I couldn't help it. I told her the baby is not his. Shocked, she said, "if the baby is not Ethan's who is the father? "

I tremble wondering whether to tell her not.

She promised to keep a secret.

So I said to her, "I think the baby is for the arrangement guy. "

Susan gasped and said, "don't tell me you had sex with him that night? "I said it gets worse. "She folded her arms and urged me to continue.
