HOLLY

I woke to the smell of coffee before I even opened my eyes.

Actually, not just coffee, I realize as I breathe in deeper.

Something a little more savory clings to the air with it.

When I finally blink awake, the first thing I see is Reece moving around the bed and what looks like a breakfast tray in his hands.

He flashes me a grin when he notices I’m awake, unhooking the tray’s legs.

“Morning, sunshine,” Reece greets, setting it across my lap like I was some pampered queen. “We figured you earned breakfast in bed after yesterday.”

Behind him, Liam holds a plate piled high with food and a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

His eyes are warm when he sets them down on top of the tray.

Two pairs of lips are pressed against my forehead, an endearing gesture that makes me smile.

“You didn’t have to do all of this.”

“We wanted to. Hopefully we didn’t do too bad.” Liam nods to my plate.

“It won’t be as good as what you probably make, but we gave it the ‘ole college try.” Reece winks.

On the plate is a pile of scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, buttered toast, and a little ramekin of jam.

Honestly, it doesn’t look half bad.

Maybe that’s my stomach talking, but from what I can already see, I’d give them both an A+.

I realize I’m smiling when my cheeks begin to ache. “You two are going to make me spoiled.”

“That’s the plan,” Reece says, settling down on the edge of the bed while Liam walks around to the other side to sit next to me.

I hold onto the tray when he scoots back to lean against the headboard.

They watch me eat, making easy conversation about nothing in particular.

This lazy kind of morning feels really nice, their banter far too easy to fall into while I allow myself to forget about the world outside this cabin.

By the time I’ve cleared most of my plate, I realize they’ve stopped talking.

Reece reaches out first, taking the tray from my lap and setting it down onto the floor next to the bed.

“You full?” he asks, voice coming out a little gravelly.

“Yeah.” My pulse spikes. I know that tone.

“Good,” Liam murmurs, brushing his knuckles along my thigh under the blanket.

I barely have time to register the quick, almost imperceptible glance that passes between them before Reece moves in.

His palm comes up to cradle my jaw, tilting my head just enough for his mouth to find mine in a kiss that steals the air right out of my lungs.

I groan, the sound pitched and helpless.

Liam is already shifting closer, his hand slipping beneath the edge of the blankets.

His fingers are warm when they curl around the hem of the sleep shirt I’d borrowed from him just before bed, the fabric bunching slowly in his grip.

The brush of his knuckles against my bare skin sends a shiver skating up my spine.

Within minutes, the covers are gone, tossed carelessly to the foot of the bed, and the quiet rustle of fabric fills the space as shirts, sweats, and underwear are pulled away and discarded to the floor.
