The Schoolroom
The schoolhouse was damp and cold. But I did not wish to be anywhere else. Elise was so close, and all I wanted was to touch her, hold her. How could I tell her the truth? How was it even possible I felt all this for a woman I was meant to use for my own benefit.
Where once I thought Iâd need to lie, or convince myself I could have compassion, affection, even devotion to a Timoran royal, now all of me desired all of her, and so much more.
With care I curled my hand around the back of her neck. Her soft skin was soothing. My brow touched hers as I coiled her long hair around my fingers. âI ask how I am to give you to some fool because I do not know how. How am I to accomplish anything I set out to do here when my heart burns to have you for myself.â
She parted her lips, but I pressed a finger over them. What was the point of resisting? Fate brought me here, perhaps this was bound to happen. My heart being taken by a woman who should be my enemy. I didnât know my name, or my past, but I knew I despised Castle Ravenspire. I knew they were behind the curse, and would pay for it.
But Elise, she had taken hold of me and I never wanted her to give me back.
I kissed her.
She gasped. All gods, how long Iâd wanted this. My hand kept her mouth firmly against mine. My tongue parted her lips, tasting her. She was sweet and smooth, and returned my passion by dragging her teeth over my lip.
Elise wrapped me in her arms, urging me closer.
Without hesitation, I clung to her hips, and followed her as Elise laid back on the school bench. She dug into my shoulders, drawing me against her slender body. When I moved, the knives on my belt jabbed into her body. Hells, I could not be rid of them fast enough. My belt landed in a thud on the floor, and I hurried to climb over her again.
The woman had to have fury. No other explanation.
Her hands slipped beneath my tunic, drawing over my skin in small sparks of heat. I shuddered as Elise tugged at the straps of her chemise.
My tongue danced behind my teeth. Her skin was pale as moonlight, her body, her breasts exposed to me. I could hardly contain the heat in my veins.
I held steady over her body, my fingers following the lines of her neck, before tugging the last of the sheer night dress back. I met her gaze. âThis is dangerous.â
âYes,â she said.
I went out on a limb to assume Elise Lysander didnât care.
So be it. Iâd be happy to oblige. With a simple tug at the back neck of my tunic, I pulled off my shirt. A deep growl rumbled in my throat. Skin to skin, a rational thought could hardly form. Elise pressed a kiss to my chest, her body rocked against mine.
