This example illustrates the most basic advantage of inheritance: that varieties inherit properties and functions from the base varieties. Here, Dog is a derived class derived from the base class Animal with the keyword extends. Derivative varieties are usually called "subclasses", and base varieties are called "superclasses".

Because the Dog class expands the function of the Animal class, we were able to create a copy of the Dog class with both the bark () and move () functions.
