Chap Sam Lim

is a Professor in mathematics education at the Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang, Malaysia. She obtained a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom. She currently teaches mathematics education research courses and qualitative research methods courses at the graduate level. Her research interests focus on public images of mathematics, teaching mathematics in second language, cross-cultural study and particularly Lesson Study as a professional development for mathematics teachers. She is an active collaborator on several international research projects, especially on Lesson Study and cross-cultural comparative studies of mathematics teaching and learning in schools.
