As Belle slowly blinked her eyes open, she was greeted by the soft glow of morning light filtering through paper-covered windows. Her nostrils were met with a delicate fragrance, a blend of incense and the subtle scent of fresh flowers from the ceramic vase on the low table.

As she attempted to sit up, her head throbbed painfully, and she winced at the dull ache echoing through her skull. The sounds of morning drifted through the air, the distant hum of activity from the streets outside mingling with the rhythmic chirping of birds.

Rubbing her temples, Belle's gaze fell upon Captain Lee, who sat asleep in a chair next to her bed. His chest rose and fell with each noisy snore, his masculine features softened by the gentle light filtering through the windows. As she glanced around the unfamiliar room, her memory hazy from the previous night's revelry, she furrowed her brow in confusion, trying to piece together the events that had led her here.

With a resigned sigh, Belle pushed herself upright, careful not to wake Captain Lee's peaceful slumber. She took a deep breath, inhaling the tantalizing aroma of sizzling meats and savory spices wafting through the air. The unmistakable scent of grilled fish, seasoned with herbs, mingled with the rich aroma of steaming rice, filling the room with a comforting warmth that promised nourishment and a faint recovery from her hangover.

Suddenly, the memories of the previous night flooded back to her, each scene replaying in her mind with vivid clarity. The obscenities, the laughter, and the kiss they had shared—all of it came crashing over her like a wave. With a gasp of realization, Belle let out an audible cry of shock, her eyes widening in alarm as she processed the events of the evening.

Her cry roused Lee from his slumber, his eyes fluttering open as he regarded her with a mixture of concern and amusement. "Annyeong hasimnikka," he mumbled as he stretched his arms. Belle's voice trembled with anxiety as she questioned, "Where are we?"

Lee's expression softened as he replied soothingly, “Good morning, Miss Sinclair. You fell asleep last night in my arms, so I brought you to a nearby lodging. Are you hungry? The old lady of this lodging made breakfast, we shall eat and then head back to the ship."

Feeling a pang of hunger gnawing at her stomach, Belle nodded hesitantly. "I... I suppose I could eat something," she admitted, still feeling slightly disoriented from the events of the previous night.

Lee smiled warmly. "Good. The old lady who runs this place makes an excellent haejangguk, guaranteed to cure your hangover. I will leave you to freshen up and meet me at the breakfast table.”

Belle nodded in acknowledgment, her voice still hoarse from the previous night's revelry. “Thank you" she replied softly, watching him as he exited the room with a sense of uncertainty lingering in her mind.

Belle entered the small washroom attached to her lodging quarters, the space dimly lit by a single oil lamp flickering on the wall.
