I’ve got an appointment coming in, but how about dinner at my place tonight? I need to apologize, and we need to talk some things out.

At first, I thought Jay would ignore my request. But, moments before the client walked in, Jay replied.

I’ll be there at 6:00.

I spent the next three hours focused on my art and subconsciously making dinner plans. By the time I’d finished the piece and cleaned up the shop, I had over two hours to get home, shower, and have dinner ready.

My heart pounded at the thought of Jay coming over. What was I, some damn horny, head-over-heels high school kid having his first real date? That’s what Jay did to me. Annoying little fucker. I smiled at how much I enjoyed being annoyed.
