CHAPTER 11

Pepper

Cool air ripples across my skin, chasing away the warmth built up from my body heat beneath the covers as Cam slides in bed beside me.

I move to roll over onto my right side and face Cam, but his fingers slide over my hip and pin me in place with a firm grip. I hadn’t realized how tired I was, and I feel the need to apologize. “I fell asleep.”

“You needed rest.” He presses his body against me.

His heat awakens more than just my mind. Electricity jolts through me from head to toe with a mere caress of his calloused hand against my skin. The hard length of him against my backside stirs something primal in me, and I moan.

Within Cam as well, a low-toned hum rumbles across my neck.

“I missed you.” He slides his hand over my ribs and brushes the underside of my breast before he cups the flesh in his hands and rolls my taut nipple between his forefinger and thumb.

The sensitive touch pulls another moan from me. I feel his desire throb against me, and my body responds in kind, a third soft moan escaping my lips. “I can tell.”

He removes his hand from my breast.

I immediately miss his touch, fighting the urge to grab his wrist and force his hand back where it was. But his fingers are trailing a path lower, dancing across my abdomen, below my belly button, until they slip under my panties.

Cam approached me in the bar, but everything that happened after had been my doing. I’d been the one in control the moment I climbed into his truck, his bed shortly thereafter, and every moment since.

Until now.

“Do you have any idea what it’s been like sittin’ up in that deer stand for the last few hours? Watchin’, waitin’ for some stray wolf to try to slip past the patrol and take you away from me?”

His breath is hot and heavy against my neck with the same need building inside of me.

“But they can’t lay claim to what doesn’t belong to them, Pepper. Because you are mine. All fuckin’ mine.” He plunges two fingers inside me, his palm pressed against my core and combining with his words.

The delicious combination is enough to drive me over the edge. I rock against his fingers, driving the climax that’s almost within reach.

“Not yet, baby. I’m just gettin’ started.” He inches his index and middle finger out, grabs the thin strap of silk stretched across my hip, and tears the bikini briefs from my body, casting the scrap of fabric onto the floor. “I’ll tell you when to come.”

This is nothing like the Cam who let me dominate him for hours inside that tiny farmhouse back in Deadwood. Not that I’m complaining. I’ve never given myself over like this, letting someone else take control, but he’s acting like an Alpha and every cell in my body is more than happy to submit.
