Adler arched a brow at me as I headed toward my truck, which was parked right next to his. I’d been giving Elliot the cold shoulder all day, but he’d smartly kept his mouth shut. He knew he’d fucked up, and I also knew it would take him a minute to apologize.

He and I butted heads the most, but that was what brothers did. We fought. We made up. And we forgot the shit ever happened in the first place.

“You good?” Adler asked me.

I nodded once before I wrenched open my truck door and slid in. Athena was working this evening, and I was hoping I could steal her attention for the night. I knew Chelsea and Cecily wouldn’t care so long as I paid for her time like a normal patron. I didn’t like having to pay for her—didn’t want her to think I wanted her for just sex—but I wanted all of her. Everything she had, I wanted to take.

I was a greedy son of a bitch. But first, I needed to shower because there was no way in hell I was dirtying up my woman like this.

When I got to the clubhouse to get a quick shower and change, Elliot intercepted me, blocking my path. I sighed and silently arched an eyebrow at him. Grunting, he shoved a hand through his hair, looking a bit uncomfortable, which put me on edge.

“I’m sorry,” he muttered quietly so only I heard him.

I pulled him into a quick hug, not saying a word, but I didn’t need to. He clapped his hand to my back before we both stepped back. A tentative smile tilted his lips, and I nodded once at him, letting one tilt my lips as well.

And just like that, we were okay again.

He moved aside, and I continued making my way to my apartment. Once the door was shut behind me, I toed my boots off before padding to my bathroom. I needed a hot shower, and then, I planned to head to the club.

The water slid over my tense muscles, relaxing me after a hard, long day at work. The project we were working on was a rush job. The owner of the house wanted to quickly flip it and sell it so he could move on to the next project. He was a long-time client of ours, and while he paid well and on time without a single complaint, we hated doing work for him. He was a nit-picker, and he liked to try to rush us.

We could only work so fast. Any faster, and we risked making mistakes or injuring ourselves or someone else. And that couldn’t happen. Safety was our utmost priority. Always.

After lathering my hair with shampoo, I scrubbed my scalp, making sure I got all the dust and dirt out. I imagined Athena’s hands running over my scalp like they had over the weekend when we showered together, the tender way she took care of me. I groaned, my dick hardening,
