In my family’s case, a big benefit of these apps is that they provide a shared means for me and my wife to efficiently manage our family’s budget and finances from our phones. We each downloaded the free Mint app and log in with the same credentials.

When she marches into the mall, one glimpse at her phone tells her how much she cannot spend on shoes. When I stroll into the music store, my phone tells me how much I cannot spend on a Tommy Lee-sized drum rack for my electric kit.
