Micah

“How long does it take to wash your mouth out anyway?”

Sadie had gone into the bathroom over ten minutes ago and I had to force myself not to follow.

“Uh, you did see Nell and Brie follow her, right?” Aiden joked. “They’re gonna be a while.”

“What’s up with you and Red?” Griffin interrupted.

“What do you mean? Nothing is up.”

“Oh, I don’t know about that. I’d be willing to bet that a part of you is in a constant state of up around her.”

“Shut the fuck up.” They were acting like juvenile idiots, despite the fact that they were right.

Turning away from the guys, I caught sight of Sadie walking out of the bathroom. Finally! Even though I had recently watched her vomit, she still looked sexy as fuck. Unable to pull my eyes away from her allure, I ignored the continued ribbing from the guys.

“You ready to head home?” I asked Sadie as she sat down at the table.

“Nope. I’m not done yet.” Smiling, she looked around the table. “Who’s ready for a round of shots?”

“Um, Sadie, don’t you think you’ve had enough?” I felt like a bastard for questioning her, but I’d hated watching her get sick.

“Maybe, but I’m not done yet, Micah. You’ve already broken a promise tonight. Don’t ruin the rest of this for me.” Her eyes pleaded with mine to understand and I caved.

“Fine. A round of shots, on me.”

Cheers rang out and it seemed I’d made the right decision. Knowing that I had to drive Rhiannon home, I only allowed myself one shot. I spent the next hour adjusting the almost painful bulge in my pants as I watched Sadie down shot after shot and dance to whatever belted out of the jukebox.

As Dusty signaled last call, I stood and stalked to Sadie and pulled her close. She hadn’t seen me coming so she let out a squeal before laughing when she realized it was me.

“Time to go, pretty girl.”

“One more dance,” she pleaded.

“Okay. One more.”

Sadie spun away from me and headed toward the jukebox. Unable to take my eyes off the sway of her hips, I missed the switch to a slower song. Before I knew it, Sadie was back and curled into me, forcing me to move with her to the music. At that moment, I was thankful I’d broken my promise.

The song was over way too soon and before I knew it, we were all filing out of Dusty’s. I held Sadie’s hand to guide her toward Rhiannon. When we stood next to the bike, Sadie halted and tugged back on my hand.

“What?” I asked.

“Um…I can’t…you don’t…” Sadie was fucking adorable as she stammered. “I can’t get on a damn motorcycle.” She had whispered motorcycle like it was a dirty word.

“Why not?”

“Because I’m drunk!” She threw her hands in the air. The action caused her to lose her balance, and I caught her before she fell on her ass.

“You’ll be fine.” I picked her up and deposited her on Rhiannon and climbed on in front of her.
