You can change your emotional state by changing your physical state. If, for example, you want to feel motivated, then sit up straight, pull your shoulders back, and smile with enthusiasm.

When I'm on a writing roll my knee sometimes bounces with nervous excitement (and probably caffeine). So when not feeling motivated, I may bounce my knee as if I was nervously excited (and caffeinated). This tricks my mind into making me feel motivated.

Set A Timer

Some people do their best work when the pressure is on. If that's you, then by all means leverage that for motivation. Make a game of it by setting a timer and trying to beat the bell.
