Chapter 23 – Tagan

I looked Hollyn over as she walked with Thane back into the actual apartment. She didn’t duck her head or try to hide behind him. No signs of embarrassment or shame at having me interrupt their fun.

I adjusted my dick after she’d passed. The little sounds that had been coming from her mouth as she tried to crawl Thane’s body had made me harder than I’d thought possible. What surprised me was the innocence of it.

My tastes were a bit kinkier than my brothers. Vanilla sex hadn’t turned me on for at least a decade. Not after I got a full taste of being in charge. An image of Hollyn tied down and spread out for me on my bed had me clenching my teeth so I didn’t blow my load right there in the elevator lobby.

I shut the door behind me as the ten o’clock news started. “Breaking news. We’ve received news that the Ladon triplets—Thane, Tagan, and Toven Ladon—are implicated in the bludgeoning death of Aldrich Yates. Yates, one of the founders of the breakthrough artificial organ technology that saved millions of lives after the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020, was found in his home, dead. His body was so traumatized it was unrecognizable. Police have been searching for the perpetrators for the last two years.”

I watched Hollyn’s face for any sign of distrust or fear. Having the news blasted out like this could potentially turn her against us. I couldn’t blame her if she did. I’d be thinking seriously about my connection to her if our roles had been reversed.

“Valley Hope Hospital is needing the community’s help in identifying this woman.” They flashed a hand drawn sketch of Hollyn. A really bad picture of her. “She left the hospital with a possible unknown infection.”

“Fuck! Tove, what the hell? You were supposed to erase her from the system.” Thane spit out.

“They’re trying to start another panic with that possible unknown infection shit,” I said. I shook my head. “There goes any hope of Hollyn leaving this apartment in the foreseeable future.”

The woman in question looked at me, her eyes sad. “This is all my fault isn’t it? The thing with the man. The hospital people wanting to study me.” She shook her head. “I should have just stayed in the Oaks. None of this would be happening if it wasn’t for me.” Tears gathered on her lashes before she spun and walked straight into Thane’s room.

As Thane and Tove dealt with damage control, I followed Hollyn. I didn’t like the broken look in her eyes as she dashed away. I knew what that kind of look could mean for what was happening on the inside.

I pushed through the door seconds after she’d shut it. I slapped at the light switch, flooding the room with soft light. The screens on the windows automatically adjusted so no one outside could see in.

“Sweetcheeks?” I called out after I couldn’t find her.

I hurried to the bathroom. Clear.

I checked the closet. Clear.
