It was still dark when Blaire woke in Knox’s bed. She was still mostly clothed in her light blue silk blouse and panties because when Knox had said that the rest would wait, he’d meant for more than a few hours. They’d done nothing more than kiss and even so, last night had been one of the most intimate nights of her life.

She smiled to herself, inhaling Knox’s scent on her pillow, then she slowly rolled to face him.

But he was gone. Instead, there was a note. She blinked at it once, twice, before pushing up on an elbow and snatching it off the pillow.
