If you’re interrupted while writing a blog post and need to finish it later, just click the Save button, and your post will be available for you to access using the Edit Posts link from your main Blogger dashboard. You can also edit or delete a post at any time from the Edit Posts page.

Getting More Advanced

Blogger has earned a reputation as a beginner’s blogging application, but in recent years, many new features have been added, making it a suitable choice for advanced bloggers, too. Two of those features are the ability to use your own domain and host your blog through a web host.

Using your own domain

Many bloggers don’t like having the .blogspot.com extension appended to their blog’s domain names. Instead, they want to brand their blog with a personal domain name, and they’re willing to invest some money to do so. If you want to purchase your own domain and associate it with your blog, you can, and Blogger makes it easy to do right from your Blogger dashboard, as follows:

1. Click the Settings link on your main Blogger dashboard using the More Options drop-down arrow shown earlier in Figure 4-6.

The Basic settings page opens, as shown earlier in Figure 4-8.

2. Select the Add a Custom Domain link.

The Blog Address section of the page expands, as shown in Figure 4-21.
