Chapter 3: Labyrinthine Country of Pub
Matriculation day at Lumiest drew steadily closer, and recently, the school life awaiting them was the big topic that Rion and DarkMel almost always wanted to talk about. They started to act restlessly again as well, as if every day were the day before a long-awaited picnic or something. However, today their restlessness was probably thanks to something different. After all, this was the day we moved to our secondary base on the Western Continent!
âIII WAAANNNT TO GOOO TOOOOOO!â
âDonât mind Ruka. Have a pleasant trip!â
âBe sure to bring back souveniiirs!â
That was the goodbye weâd gotten from Ruka and Ellie after preparations were done and we were about to step through the teleportation gate under the estate. They were usually left behind when we went on trips since we couldnât afford to leave the estate unmanned in our absence, and that went double this time while we would be staying on the Western Continent. As an aside, the souvenirs Ruka asked for were rare cooking tools that were unique to the countries we visited. She had totally gotten used to being left behind and was also growing more reliable as a chef.
This was a large-scale relocation of our base of operations, so pretty much everybody was taking part. Initially, Dahak had seemed like he wanted to stay and improve his plantation, but then heâd remembered that a certain holy ground existed on the Western Continent and immediately got on board, even going so far as to say that we should all go right away before taking the initiative to pack.
Unfortunately for him, we donât have any plans to go to Goldianaâs holy grounds. Itâs totally unfortunate...super unfortunate...yeah.
The teleportation gate was set to take us to the same gate we had used to go to Lumiest before. From there, we would once again use carriages to take us to our destination. But this time, we were riding in carriages prepared by the Adventurerâs Guild of the Western Continent instead of using Rudoâs services. And with all that information, it should be easy to guess where our destination lay. Yes, we were making our base on the westernmost edge of the Western Continent, in the Labyrinthine Country of Pub, where the headquarters of the Adventurerâs Guild were located.
âHey, what kinda place is Pub?â Sera asked Ange, who was sitting next to her.
We had boarded the carriages marked with the guild headquartersâ bear crest and were currently on our way to Pubâs capital. Sera was sitting across from me, along with Ange.
âThe Labyrinthine Country of Pub? Well, as its name implies, itâs got a whole bunch of dungeons within its borders. Donât be surprised now, but only counting the confirmed ones, this country holds the world record at 247!â
âTwo... Two huââ Sera reacted with shock. âAll in one country? Isnât that, like, way too many?â
âI know it sounds like a lie, but trust meâthis info is coming to you from Ange-san, the most reliable source in the world! And I mean, thatâs the official number given by the guild.
