CHAPTER EIGHT
Hawk
It had taken a week to organise their trip down to Zinkwazi. With Ice, Boots and Sinâs help he had arranged to stop at several of their chapters on the way down, which meant they would be on their bikes and not in a cage. They wouldnât be staying over at any of them, instead they had booked accommodation at B&Bâs and Lodges on the way down. In Durban they would be staying at Scarâs penthouse before heading up to Zinkwazi.
And the reason they werenât staying at any of clubhouses? The reason he gave to his presidents and anyone who asked was that he was taking his old lady on a holiday. He left it at that. They could make what they wanted of it. Most of the men didnât argue, thinking he needed privacy, which he did, but that wasnât the main reason.
The main reason was that he didnât trust anyone but the brothers riding with them.
And that was fucked up.
Before they even hit the road Ziggy had set Kobus and Bollywood on deep diving every single man at the clubs they were stopping at. He wasnât the only one who was paranoid right now. Everyone at the Mother Chapter was as uptight as he was. Maybe it was because it was a brotherâs woman who had been violated. Or maybe they felt the threat to their women more keenly because of how easy it had been to get to Deena.
By the time they pulled out of the compound the Nomads had arrived and every single woman and child now had dedicated protectors. Jagger had found a second hand bus at a good price and it was now in use taking the kids to school and back. Vissie (Fish) had a PDP (public driverâs permit) and was now the designated bus driver. He wasnât alone though, he had a brother with him inside the bus and another riding along on the trips to school and back. According to him the kids loved it, especially the older ones as it gave them street credâ¦or something stupid like that.
When they rode out his old lady was on the back of his bike, and he loved having her there. Thankfully she hadnât argued when he told her she wouldnât be riding down but would be on the back of his bike. She understood the seriousness of their situation. She was the only woman in the group and none of the brothers riding with them had children, girlfriends or old ladies. Sin had been adamant when he chose the men that it would be single brothers only. When Sin brought him the list it was obvious he had chosen very specific men. Men who were all in positions of trust. He had added a prospect to the list though. Adder would be riding with them. He was glad of the addition because he would need those watchful eyes when they visited the chapters. No one would pay attention to him because he was a prospect and below anyoneâs notice.
