RED
RED
Red is an intense hue that arouses a duality of emotions: passion and anger, love and danger. Proceed with caution.
Pros: Use this color to draw attention to something fabulous in your space. Hang red drapes on either side of a window with awesome views. If you have an expensive dining table, show it off by encircling it with red chairs.
Cons: If you have a stressful job (like being an interior designer ) or are easily anxious, steer clear of this color as it increases heart rate and can visually overwhelm.
Designer Secret: There is a school of thought in design that believes red is like lipstick on a lady. No room is fully done without one splash of red. No matter their 60/30/10 choices, they always add one red element. I am amused but not in agreement. Rather, I think there is a color further down this list that is necessary for every room. Keep going . . .
