The name of my business is Quintessence Inc. “Quintessence” is a noun that means perfection. I choose it because it was a nice-sounding word with a powerful meaning. I’d picked it up from a friend when I was sophomore in college. She had a perfect 4.0 grade average in biochemistry, and her sorority sisters called her Quintessence.

When it came time to design the logo for my company, my graphic designer and I decided that I needed to emphasize the Q in the logo and use PMS 200 red and black as my main brand colors. My business cards at the time were red, and I always stood out in a crowd
