To open the door, the characters must place the dark mana crystal from area C3 in the center socket. Once the mana crystal is inserted, the flame on the door begins to glow. A creature that touches the door without blood on its hand takes 2d8 fire damage as the flame glows white-hot.

Activating the crystal requires Humanoid blood. This blood can be obtained from any of the corpses the characters encounter, or from a character who offers it willingly. A willing donor must take 1 point of slashing damage and touch their blood to the crystal. The circle must then be turned counterclockwise—at which point, the door swings open.

Any character can make a DC 13 Intelligence (Arcana or Religion) check to discern the key to this puzzle, with no cost on a success. If the initial check fails, it can be repeated, but each time a character does so, they generate 3 Doom Points.
