Balance Drill

Without skis, balance on one foot and swing the opposite arm forward and opposite leg back; hold the position for a few seconds. Switch legs. You’ll learn how to glide longer and get more power out of a coordinated swing.

Swing both arms and the free leg (the one you’re not standing on) to develop balance, coordination, and core activation.

Gliding on one ski.

Long Glide

On an easy downhill or after a push-off, balance on one ski in the tracks and glide as far as you can. If you can do this in a relaxed stance, it improves balance and opens the door to a longer glide.
