And that was pretty much how the Bingo night went for the first hour or so. A bit of music, a few rounds. Denise handing out prizes to a selection of thin-looking winners. Nothing very exciting. George got close to a line and was hopefully eyeing up a mini-hamper of jams. Then they moved on to playing for a full house and he lost out to a rather drab-looking woman in crushed velvet.

George tried to concentrate on the game, but was unsettled. All around him were vampires playing Bingo. Even Mitchell. And they seemed… odd. Complacent. Dopey. Drunk almost. Just sitting there, looking up at Denise, reading the numbers off the Bingomatic.
