Leftover paint should not be poured down drains or onto your garden. Unwanted paint is best brushed out onto newspaper, allowed to dry in an airy shed and disposed of according to local council regulations. Empty paint containers should be left open in a well-ventilated outside area to dry out before disposing of them.

Painted surfaces (to clean prior to painting)

Wet the wall with plain water using an old paint brush. Wash the surface using a ‘Lectric’ soda solution, then rinse with clean water. Use a soft cloth to wipe dry. Smoke and grease stains require a strong solution. Alternatively, use a hot soapy water and borax solution.
