ANGLESEA
pop 2290
This sweet little seaside village has long been a family favourite for its terrific beaches and low-key holiday feel. The town winds around the gum-green Anglesea River, and accommodation makes the most of tranquil bush settings. The town is oddly well known for the kangaroos that graze on the local golf course.
There’s tourist information available from a booth across from the main shopping centre, although a more permanent visitor centre was planned at the time of writing.
