we knock back our cocktails in geosynchronous orbit

we smoke our weed captioned with the date

and US Eastern Daylight Time

to Sirius XM's ‘60s-'70s

mellow-rock The Bridge playing

almost imperceptibly

and dream we still understand

what the space race was all about

as one down from the NASA channel

Dish Earth on our TV package

shows to that music a view of a planet

over which an occulting shadow steals

almost imperceptibly
