375. The dating of Chuang Tzu is problematic. Ray Grigg claims, “Chuang Tzu’s life traditionally set at 369–286 BC or perhaps 350–320 BC, although he might have died as late as 275 BC” (Grigg, Tao of Zen, 21). Wing-Tsit Chan places the dates between 399 and 295 BCE (Chan, Source Book in Chinese Philosophy, 177). Stephen Teiser places the dates around 370–301 BCE.
