Anita felt as if she was floating once her men left for work, but she also missed them greatly. They had become such a presence in her life that now that they had consummated their relationship a part of her was missing when they were away from her.

Standing in the great room, she looked at the furniture that had already been delivered. She was quite happy with what she had chosen and hoped the men would be also. The large saddle-brown sectional was under the large window and swept around a curve to face the fireplace. She had wanted it large enough for all six of her boys to lounge around after school or after work, watching television or playing games, though her men insisted on all three boys having individual game consoles in their rooms. Three matching leather recliners lined up across from the window, small oak tables in between them. A large rectangular glass and oak coffee table sat between all of them. Oak bookshelves stood tall and majestic on both sides of the stone fireplace and an oak mantle leaned up against the stone waiting for one of the men to place it in its rightful place above the hearth.

Bags of knick-knacks, curtains, and other objects sat lined against the French doors that led out to the patio. Those she could distribute later. She would get the guys to help put up the curtains when they got home.

The horn honking in the front yard announced Lyndee’s arrival. Anita would have to tell her they had to wait for one more delivery truck before they could go to lunch but at least she could help the woman bring in the bags that had been left in her truck when the guys sidetracked her on the porch last night.

Heading to the front door, Anita hadn’t quite gotten there before a quick knock sounded and the door opened before she could call out to enter. “Hello, hello!” the petite blond called out, poking her head around the opening door. “You ready?”

“Come in,” Anita answered as she headed back into the kitchen. “Coffee?”

“No. Thanks. I had enough of that this morning with the guys.”

“Really? I barely got mine breakfast before they had to head out.”

“You’ll get into a groove eventually. Plus, once you get all your stuff put together in here, it’ll go smoother,” Lyndee promised, looking around. “Oh, I see the great room furniture arrived. It looks great. You have a good eye for details.”

Anita felt her face heat at the compliment, something she wasn’t used to. “Thanks,” she mumbled then took a sip of coffee. Raising her eyes she found Lyndee looking at her skeptically. “What?”

“Get used to the compliments. Your guys will have plenty of them and there is nothing to be embarrassed about.”

Shrugging, Anita felt self-conscious even with the kind words. “I’m just not just to getting them.”
