That was easy.

It was rather simple.

He knew exactly what she needed to do.

She needed to be worried.

Big-Time.

In Car

On The Way

To The Hospital

This had become their new norm. For Tessa and Paris, each day, after breakfast, they would head back to the local hospital, where the twins were born, and they would see them.

They stayed late.

They showed up early.

That was how they planned on doing this until their babies were home with them. It wouldn’t be long.

It had been weeks, and now it was days.

That was a beautiful thing.

It was hard to not have Lucille and Hudson at home with them—especially since they couldn’t cuddle on a couch or have a bath in their own place.

They missed the little things. Yesterday had been great, skin-to-skin time, and feeding them, but it wasn’t the same thing.

They missed them.

Tessa wanted to be up all-night with her children. She wanted to wake to their cries.

That would be the most special thing ever. She was going to get one-shot at motherhood, and she felt like she was being robbed.

It sucked.

Over the last few weeks, as they grew stronger, Paris and Tessa had prepared their nursery.

She painted.

Primped.

Prepared.

The clock was ticking.

It was almost the day.

“I can’t wait,” he said. “I want to take our babies everywhere,” he stated. “I never want to leave them behind again,” he admitted.

She smiled.

“I am excited too,” Tessa offered, taking his hand in hers as she drove them there. “I can’t believe that they went from tiny to ready to head home. I’m tired of pumping and carrying my milk in. I want to cuddle on the couch and breastfeed my little ones.”

He wanted that too.

God!

Paris needed that.

He loved his wife, and he loved his kids. They were the center of his world. All he wanted was for them to be by his side.

Before long, it would happen.

They only had to be patient.

As she pulled into the parking lot at the hospital, she parked in their customary spot.

Before she could get out, Paris took her hand in his and left kisses across her knuckles.

“I love you,” he stated.

Her heart skipped.

“Oh, Paris.”

“I just want you to know that you’re the best mom in the world,” he said, pulling the tiny little-crocheted caps from her purse. She’d been working on them the last two nights. One was pink, and one was blue.

They were cute.

“Our babies have the best mom in the universe, and they will be so happy with us. I’m a lucky, lucky man,” he stated.

No.

She was the lucky one.

Tessa never thought this would be happening. Never in her wildest dreams did she think this would come true. It was all because he took a chance and pursued her, and she stayed when he’d been shot.

They made this universe.

It was a blessing.

One, she’d never forget.

“Want to go see our babies for another day?” Paris asked, giving her a soft kiss on the mouth.

Oh, how could she say no to that?

“Yes, let’s go.
