Giving Birth

The doors to the operating room swung open and we were inside. Everyone was busy in there with their own tasks. I was standing next to Vas holding her hand. The consultant came over with two junior doctors who were going to assist him. It was such a weird experience. As they were putting some kind of liquid on Vas’s belly, where they were going to cut her, the consultant was actually being quite abrupt towards one of the junior doctors. I remember looking at my wife to see if she noticed this juncture and she gave me a knowing look. We made no comment. Here we were on the brink of the abyss and they couldn’t sort their differences in private. The whole situation was ludicrous.
